Launch at Edinburgh International Book Festival

by .

We are delighted to announce that Kohl Publishing will officially launch at Edinburgh International Book Festival on 19 August 2012 (9pm) as part of the late night FREE programme, UNBOUND. During the event we will also launch a special pre-publication edition of Fremont – a serialised eBook that is downloaded week-by-week throughout August and September.

The theme of the evening – entitled High Infidelity – is adultery in literary fiction, and we’ve lined up a real treat. The evening includes new writing from several authors, including our very own Elizabeth Reeder, who will be reading from Fremont. We also welcome another wonderful writer, none other than Anne Enright, winner of the Man Booker Prize in 2007. Needless to say, we’re delighted that Anne is joining the bill and look forward to her reading from her new novel, The Forgotten Waltz, which was nominated for the Orange Prize for Fiction 2012. To stimulate you a little more, we also have live music with a jazz and blues vibe and a literary quiz with some awesome prizes. And let’s not forget the most important part of the night, a free download of the first three sections of the Fremont serial.

Notorious for its provocative themes, UNBOUND is reserved for those with an adventurous disposition. And with the likes of Cargo Publishing, Words per Minute,  Illicit Ink and the infamous Literary Death Match, I’d say we’re in good company. We hope to see you there!

Be sure to check out our interview as part of the The Skinny‘s EIBF feature. And here’s the official description for the event:

Bringing a different vice to the Unbound canon, Glasgow-based newcomer Kohl Publishing presents ‘High Infidelity’ – an evening celebrating adultery in literary fiction. Featuring new writing, scarlet literature from the past, live music with a sensual twist and wayward trivia, the Kohl girls promise to turn the Spiegeltent into a den of deviance. Kohl will also unveil an enticing digital peepshow – a new reading experience of tantalising downloads, showcasing Elizabeth Reeder’s Fremont, their brilliant debut novel. Watch out for the scarlet letter for giveaways.
